"The Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA) is a 501c3 public nonprofit exhibit and research center. CIMA was established in 2013, as a way to promote Italian Modern Art displaying work from the 1860s to the 1970s. CIMA is located downtown in Manhattan's SoHo district. The center receives between 2,850 and 4,000 visitors per year. The center is funded through individual giving, through membership, sponsorships, in-kind contributions, as well as through institutional support from private foundations. In addition, the Founder, Laura Mattioli, whose father was the Milanese collector Gianni Mattioli, makes significant contributions. There are four full time staff as well as four fellows per year, and a rotating roster of interns.. The Center also publishes an online journal, Italian Modern Art. The Center is self-contained in a downtown loft. Each academic year, CIMA works on a specific installation that features artists whose work would not otherwise be seen in the U.S. CIMA’s installations are intended to raise awareness of these artists' influence on the Modern Art culture. 2018 showcased the work of lesser known surrealist artist Alberto Savinio. In 2019/2020, the featured exhibit focused on the work of Marino Marini; in 2020/2021 the collection “Facing America: Mario Schifano, 1960-65” was highlighted."@en . "910904437"^^ .
