The name of the loch comes from the Scots Gaelic word Caer meaning fort and wark the old Scots language word for work. There are four artificial islets in the loch showing evidence of fortification and settlement, Ash Island is thought to be a crannog. Several archaeological finds have been retrieved from the loch including a bronze cauldron, sword and pan and two dugout canoes. Carlingwark Lane Canal is a 1.5 mile canal which opened between the loch and the River Dee, 1.5 miles away in 1765. It remained in use until its abandonment in about 1840, allowing flat-bottomed boats to transport shell-marl to farms along the route. There is a 5.25 km (3.26 mi) footpath around the loch and it is popular for bird watching and fishing. As of 5 March 2012 the loch and the land around it has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest on account of its varied birdlife and grassland. In 1903 the loch was surveyed by E.R. Watson and later charted as part of The Bathymetrical Survey of Fresh-Water Lochs of Scotland 1897–1909. In 2009 an aerating fountain was installed at a cost of £10,000 to try to prevent the build-up of blue-green algae. The funding was provided by . The installation of the fountain was part of a wider development of by Dumfries and Galloway Council. However, further research showed that, owing to the relatively shallow depth of the loch, the fountain is ineffective and its use was discontinued. Barley straw, added twice a year, has been used very successfully up to 2019 to reduce the blue-green algae levels."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Ilumina93> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributorID> "17226379"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Thailand_national_football_team> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thailand_national_football_team&oldid=913501738> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Constituency_LA-6> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501728"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Michael_of_Yugoslavia> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributor> <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Rathfelder> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Danilo,_Crown_Prince_of_Montenegro> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501703"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/The_Rolling_Stones_discography> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:31Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Rahavi_Kifou%C3%A9ti> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501711"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/2019_in_Japanese_television> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:19Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/List_of_bays_of_Scotland> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:17Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Sir_Sputnik> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributorID> "6278275"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Proposed_second_Scottish_independence_referendum> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501730"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Essen_Hauptbahnhof> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:21Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Carlingwark_Loch> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "6790"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Ummet_Ozcan> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:18Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Sykes972> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributorID> "27044556"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Hossein_Ghanbari> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/abstract> "Hossein Ghanbari (Persian: حسين قنبری‎, born February 20, 1988) is an Iranian football player. Contestants play against a professional quizzer, known as the \"chaser\", who attempts to prevent them from winning a cash prize. The chasers are Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan. Labbett and Wallace have both been chasers since series 1, while Hegerty joined in series 2, Sinha in series 4 and Ryan in series 9. A team of four contestants individually attempt to amass as much money as possible, which is later added to a prize fund if the contestant survives their individual chase. The chaser must attempt to catch each contestant during their individual chase, eliminating that person from the game and preventing the money from being added to the collective prize fund. In the individual chase the player must choose between a higher offer, their earned money, and a lower offer. Later, in the final round, contestants who survived their individual chases play collectively as a team against the chaser for an equal share of the prize fund. With a regular audience of three to five million, The Chase is one of ITV's most successful daytime shows ever. It has been nominated six times at the National Television Awards, winning in 2016, 2017, and 2019. It has also become a successful international franchise: regional versions have been made in Australia, China, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Israel, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and the United States. Labbett, Hegerty and Wallace also feature as chasers on the Australian version. Labbett featured as the sole chaser on the now-defunct American version."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/The_Rolling_Stones_discography> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "89047"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/HTML_element> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "110901"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Kyle_Jason> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kyle_Jason&oldid=913501724> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Alstom_Citadis> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:11Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/The_Italian_Job> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Italian_Job&oldid=913501702> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Ace_Of_Space_2> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "10868"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Truro_School> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Truro_School&oldid=913501723> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/X-Moto> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "6274"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Constituency_LA-6> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:24Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Hossein_Ghanbari> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hossein_Ghanbari&oldid=913501715> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Roxxxy_Andrews> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "3779"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlingwark_Loch> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributor> <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Geopersona> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Steampunk> <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment> "Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Although its literary origins are sometimes associated with the cyberpunk genre, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century British Victorian era or the American \"Wild West\", in a future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. However, steampunk and neo-Victorian are different in that the neo-Victorian movement does not extrapolate on technology while technology is a key aspect of steampunk. Steampunk most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retrofuturistic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era's perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technologies may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or of the modern authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld, Stephen Hunt, and China Miéville. Other examples of steampunk contain alternative-history-style presentations of such technology as steam cannons, lighter-than-air airships, analogue computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine. Steampunk may also incorporate additional elements from the genres of fantasy, horror, historical fiction, alternate history, or other branches of speculative fiction, making it often a hybrid genre. The first known appearance of the term steampunk was in 1987, though it now retroactively refers to many works of fiction created as far back as the 1950s or 1960s. Steampunk also refers to any of the artistic styles, clothing fashions, or subcultures that have developed from the aesthetics of steampunk fiction, Victorian-era fiction, art nouveau design, and films from the mid-20th century. Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical \"steampunk\" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/The_Italian_Job> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:08Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . She also mentioned that she tried to take the issue to the management but that did not help her case at all. After reading this over a hundred more former students shared their stories too. All these stories included somewhat the same sort of complaints against the same teachers. This post was then deleted from the platform due to pressure from the school."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/2019_Belgian_Grand_Prix> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:30Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Sykes972> <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#label> "Sykes972" . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Ummet_Ozcan> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/abstract> "Ummet Ozcan (Turkish: Ümmet Özcan, IPA: [ymˈmet øzˈdʒan]; born 16 August 1982) is a Dutch–Turkish DJ and record producer from Putten, Gelderland."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/List_of_bays_of_Scotland> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "106345"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/X-Moto> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=X-Moto&oldid=913501729> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Forward_Public_School> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:15Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Carlingwark_Loch> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:30Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Sandstein> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributorID> "359256"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/2019_in_Japanese_television> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501721"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Steampunk> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:10Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Sa%C5%A1a_Ognenovski> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionLink> <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Saša_Ognenovski&oldid=913501704> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Steampunk> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "100339"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Roxxxy_Andrews> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/abstract> "Michael Feliciano (born September 23, 1983), known by his stage name Roxxxy Andrews, is an American drag performer. It tells the story of Charlie Croker (Michael Caine), the leader of a cockney criminal gang released from prison with the intention of doing a \"big job\" in Italy to steal gold bullion from an armoured security truck. Its soundtrack was composed by Quincy Jones, and includes \"On Days Like These\" sung by Matt Monro over the opening credits, and \"Getta Bloomin' Move On\" (usually referred to as \"The Self-Preservation Society\", after its chorus) during the climactic car chase. Lead actor Michael Caine is among its singers. In 1999, it was ranked #36 on the BFI Top 100 British films by the British Film Institute. In November 2004, Total Film named The Italian Job the 27th greatest British film of all time. The line \"You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!\" by Caine was voted favourite film one-liner in a 2003 poll of 1,000 film fans. One of the most discussed end scenes in film, what happened to the coachload of gold teetering over the edge of a cliff has been debated in the decades since the film was released. The popularity of the film has led to parodies and allusions in other films and productions, including a 2003 remake, a reference in The Simpsons episode The Italian Bob, and a re-enactment of the Mini Cooper car-chase in the MacGyver episode “Thief of Budapest”. The film has inspired a charity event that has taken place annually since 1990 and involves Minis and other vehicles featured in the original film, driving from the UK to northern Italy and back, visiting Grand Prix circuits, historic Italian cities and the locations in Turin featured in the film, while fundraising for children's charities. The event has raised nearly £2,600,000 so far. Marking the 50th anniversary of the film, in June 2019, stunt drivers in red, white and blue Coopers recreated parts of the film's famous car-chase around Turin at the grounds of Mini's Oxford factory."@en . <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Grahamec> <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#label> "Grahamec" . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/1996%E2%80%9397_Washington_Bullets_season> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExternalLink> <https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199611200WSB.html> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/1996%E2%80%9397_Washington_Bullets_season> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExternalLink> <https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199612280WSB.html> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Truro_School> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageLength> "16854"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#nonNegativeInteger> . <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columnar_jointing> <http://dbpedia.org/meta/contributor> <http://dbpedia.org/contributor/Sandstein> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Martino> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageModified> "2019-09-01T13:24:25Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Thailand_national_football_team> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageRevisionID> "913501738"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer> . <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Sarah_Michelle_Gellar> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/wikiPageExtracted> "2019-09-01T13:24:33Z"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime> . # completed 2019-09-01T13:24:36Z
